The Spider-Man portions feel like they're supposed to be comedic, but that stings when the whole set-up is little more than an overwrought idiot plot (further reinforced by the X-Men sections where Maddie is "turned from the Dark Side" by actually having a fucking conversation).

Rek-Rap is a demon of Limbo who came to idolize Spider-Man after being rescued by him. Calling himself "Parker-Man", the demon applied to join the Insidious Six but was rejected by Chasm for his heroic aspirations. Dejected, the demon was approached by an alchemist demon who offered to help and bonded him to a symbiote, which merged with the demon's Spider-Man T-shirt to take on an appearance.

Prior to becoming an extremely muscular version of Spider-Man, Rek-Rap was a demon who hailed from Limbo who Peter Parker, also trapped in Limbo, saved from some ghoulish creatures.
